From June the 14th till the 25th 2004 exercise Clean Hunter took place. Fourtien countries joined the 2004 edition with as main goal to tighten the cooperation between these NAVO partners. One of the participating airfields was Büchel Air Base, situated in the German Eifel. The Polish Air Force deployed 5 Su-22M4 Fitters from the Swidwin Based 40 ELT to Büchel, flying two missions each day. The Clean Hunter exercises were organised from 1999 till 2005.
